1st annual scientific meeting of Asian Association of Hair Restoration Surgery – AAHRS

On June 24-26, 2011 1st annual scientific meeting of Asian Association of Hair Restoration Surgery – AAHRS was held in Bangkok, Thailand. Congress was attended by more than 100 delegates from Asian countries, as well as from USA, Canada, Australia and Egypt. Georgia on this congress was represented by Dr. Akaki Tsilosani, director of "TALIZI" clinic, as a guest speaker.

Asian Association of Hair Restoration Surgery – AAHRS was founded last year in Bangkok by the leadership of famous Thai hair transplant surgeon - Damkerng Pathomvanich. Akaki Tsilosani was the first one to become a member of the association, for many of "TALIZI" clinic's patients are from Asia, mainly from Korea and Kazakhstan and sharing experience with doctors working with Asian ethnic groups is very important for us. Of course decisive role did make friendship between Akaki Tsilosani and the founder and first president of the association – Damkerng Pathomvanich.

Many reports about actual issues of hair transplantation were represented during meeting. Besides the fact that delegations of clinic "TALIZI" actively participate in such international scientific meetings, AAHRS 1st annual meeting still was distinguished with important news. First of all we would like to highlight report of famous Indian hair transplant surgeon - Sanjiv Vasa about the original method of hairline design.

Reports of Akaki Tsilosani, as a guest speaker was dedicated to the "Talizi" method of strip excision and the problem of poor growth in hair transplantation. The discussion panel comprised of: Jerry Wong (Canada), Jennifer Martinich (Australia),John Cole (USA) and Damkerng Pathomvanich (Thailand) along with Dr. Akaki Tsilosani.

Mostly pleasant for us was meeting with Dr. Tsung Han (Taiwan) and Dr. Steven Ang (Singapore), who have passed training program in hair transplant surgery at "TALIZI" clinic.

Following meeting was decided to be held in South Korea in April, 2012. As a second president of the association has been elected - Tommy Hwan.
