On 14-18, 2011 19th annual scientific meeting of International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery was held in Anchorage, Alaska.  Georgia at that congress was represented by the delegates of “TAlIZI” clinic, its director – Akaki Tsilosani and the Head of training department – Salome Vadachkoria. 450 delegates from different countries attended the meeting and 150 presentations about mostly actual issues in hair transplantation were reported during these 4 days. Presentation of Akaki Tsilosani was dedicated to giga sessions and analyzing his 6 year experience. Eminently interesting for the assembly was to find out the way “TALIZI” manages performing giga sessions in 4-5 hours and how the main obstructive problem of giga session – scalp poor laxity has been resolved. As two years ago in Amsterdam, the same now, in the block dedicated to giga sessions together with Dr. Akaki Tsilosani, participated  the pioneer of giga sessions - Jerry Wong  from Canada,  Arthur Tykocinski  - Brazil and Sharon Keene from USA.   By the way, ”Gold Follicle - 2011”  by the ISHRS leadership was awarded exactly to Jerry Wong.

This was a confession of Jerry Wong’s and his partners - Victor Hasson’s merits, for introduction of giga sessions and many years unwearied work.

Director of "TALIZI" clinic - Akaki Tsilosani and Jerry Wong first met each other in Monreal, 2008, at ISHRS meeting. After that they are often meeting each other at different congresses and therefore their acquaintanceship overgrew into warm friendly relationships.  Auspicious factor is that both of them are specialized in giga sessions and that is why without a word understand each other: " When we have a transplantation of 2000 grafts, its like a holiday" - often jokes Jerry Wong. The same happens in "TALIZI" clinic.

Salome Vadachkoria – has served as Teaching Faculty  of ISHRS for two years and as this year, she has been demonstrating unique methods of graft dissection developed in our clinic on surgical assistant’s workshop as for beginners, but also for experienced surgical assistants coming from all around the world;  As she has been the one of the founders of training department and developer of training program hosting  number of trainees from different parts of the world coming to our clinic, her experience and unique approach has challenged big interest from all participants and attendees of the workshop.

Main  intrigue of Alaska congress was  presentation of first robotic system of hair transplantation, modelled by "ARTAS" company. Popular American hair transplant surgeon - Jim Harris participated in production of the robot. Denoted robot provoked  encyclical interest, though it performs only a small part of mostly complicated work of hair transplantation procedure - captures  and harvests follicular units signed by doctor on monitor. This is only a first step of robotic system creation.

At ISHRS meeting a preliminary negotiation took place between delegation of "TALIZI" clinic and the executive director of ISHRS  - Victoria Ceh about conducting a regional meeting of ISHRS 2013 in Georgia.
