Long hair transplantation is absolutely a new trend in hair restoration field. Pioneered in this incredibly new direction is considered to be – Marcelo Pitchon - a famous Brazilian surgeon. He was the one who first performed long hair transplant in 2004.

The main purpose of long hair transplant is the opportunity of seeing the final result of hair transplantation straight after the surgery and not after a year, as it happens in case of ordinary hair transplant procedures. Of course this is provisional effect and transplanted long hair starts to fall out in a month and regrows after 2-3 months. Exactly this and also programming of successful hair transplant final result are the main motivations for performing this type of surgery.

Preliminary visible hair transplant result seems not to be the only advantage of long hair transplantation. It caused a lot of technological, behavioral and communicational changes and all these changes opens a door for us in a totally new universe of hair restoration surgery.

On 14-18, 2011 19th annual scientific meeting of International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery was held in Anchorage, Alaska.  Georgia at that congress was represented by the delegates of “TAlIZI” clinic, its director – Akaki Tsilosani and the Head of training department – Salome Vadachkoria. 450 delegates from different countries attended the meeting and 150 presentations about mostly actual issues in hair transplantation were reported during these 4 days. Presentation of Akaki Tsilosani was dedicated to giga sessions and analyzing his 6 year experience. Eminently interesting for the assembly was to find out the way “TALIZI” manages performing giga sessions in 4-5 hours and how the main obstructive problem of giga session – scalp poor laxity has been resolved. As two years ago in Amsterdam, the same now, in the block dedicated to giga sessions together with Dr. Akaki Tsilosani, participated  the pioneer of giga sessions - Jerry Wong  from Canada,  Arthur Tykocinski  - Brazil and Sharon Keene from USA.   By the way, ”Gold Follicle - 2011”  by the ISHRS leadership was awarded exactly to Jerry Wong.

This was a confession of Jerry Wong’s and his partners - Victor Hasson’s merits, for introduction of giga sessions and many years unwearied work.

Director of "TALIZI" clinic - Akaki Tsilosani and Jerry Wong first met each other in Monreal, 2008, at ISHRS meeting. After that they are often meeting each other at different congresses and therefore their acquaintanceship overgrew into warm friendly relationships.  Auspicious factor is that both of them are specialized in giga sessions and that is why without a word understand each other: " When we have a transplantation of 2000 grafts, its like a holiday" - often jokes Jerry Wong. The same happens in "TALIZI" clinic.

Salome Vadachkoria – has served as Teaching Faculty  of ISHRS for two years and as this year, she has been demonstrating unique methods of graft dissection developed in our clinic on surgical assistant’s workshop as for beginners, but also for experienced surgical assistants coming from all around the world;  As she has been the one of the founders of training department and developer of training program hosting  number of trainees from different parts of the world coming to our clinic, her experience and unique approach has challenged big interest from all participants and attendees of the workshop.

Main  intrigue of Alaska congress was  presentation of first robotic system of hair transplantation, modelled by "ARTAS" company. Popular American hair transplant surgeon - Jim Harris participated in production of the robot. Denoted robot provoked  encyclical interest, though it performs only a small part of mostly complicated work of hair transplantation procedure - captures  and harvests follicular units signed by doctor on monitor. This is only a first step of robotic system creation.

At ISHRS meeting a preliminary negotiation took place between delegation of "TALIZI" clinic and the executive director of ISHRS  - Victoria Ceh about conducting a regional meeting of ISHRS 2013 in Georgia.

On 28-30 June, 2011, Clinic Talizi team was invited by American Academy of Aesthetic medicine to conduct Training Program and demonstrative surgeries in Dubai, UAE.

Faculty team was composed of four Delegates: Clinic Talizi Director, Hair Restoration Surgeon Dr. Akaki Tsilosani, Training Program Manager Dr. Eliso Mshvenieradze, Head of Training Department for Assistants Salome Vadachkoria and Head Nurse Tamar Bregvadze.

American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM®) is dedicated to the teaching of aesthetic medical science techniques and procedures, education and training.  AAAM is international society consisting of 20 member societies around the world and hosting number of conferences, congress, training programs and workshops for doctors and doctor’s assistants all around the world.

AAAM mission is to provide teaching and sharing of latest achievements of world’s leading clinics in aesthetic medicine to doctors and doctor’s assistants looking for improvement of old techniques and gaining knowledge from invited highly experienced, faculty delegates from different parts of the world.

American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine was first time introduced to clinic Talizi team during 18^th annual Scientific Meeting of International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ISHRS) held in Boston , USA in 2010. Conference was attended by clinic Talizi representatives: Hair Restoration Surgeons - Dr. Akaki Tsilosani, Dr. Vazha Vadachkoria and Surgical Assistant Salome Vadachkoria; Talizi team has been actively involved in events, conferences and workshops managed by ISHRS for years and introduction by American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine to Talizi representatives has been due to speeches provided on ISHRS congress by Dr. Akaki Tsilosani and Salome Vadachkoria, where newest methods and findings in Hair transplantation were presented, together with Training Program successfully implemented in clinic Talizi for novice doctors and doctor’s assistants for years, and which accounts number of already successful graduated surgeons and assistants all around the world.

First interest in Clinic Talizi activities was expressed by Jessica Mok, regional manager of American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, who was attending ISHRS annual meeting in Boston and after that  president of American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine-Michael Delune decided to invite Clinic Talizi team to conduct Training Program in hair transplantation.

Faculty representatives invited from Clinic Talizi managed three day training Course in Dubai, UAE. Program was attended by Doctors and Doctor’s Assistants from Iran, India and Saudi Arabia and was consisting of theoretical part lectures together with hands on training live surgery workshops.

Program for doctors was managed by Dr. Akaki Tsilosani and lectures for assistants were provided by Salome Vadachkoria. Five hands on training surgeries were accomplished together with theoretical lectures, where newest techniques of Strip and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) methods were demonstrated.

Training program has been very successful; trainees were highly satisfied with gained knowledge and skills adopted during the course. Delighted by Clinic Talizi work, Director of Training programs managed by American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine in Middle East, Ashok Kumar Chaturvedi, decided to solve his hair loss problems in Talizi, and will visit our clinic on August 30 together with his wife.

On June 24-26, 2011 1st annual scientific meeting of Asian Association of Hair Restoration Surgery – AAHRS was held in Bangkok, Thailand. Congress was attended by more than 100 delegates from Asian countries, as well as from USA, Canada, Australia and Egypt. Georgia on this congress was represented by Dr. Akaki Tsilosani, director of "TALIZI" clinic, as a guest speaker.

Asian Association of Hair Restoration Surgery – AAHRS was founded last year in Bangkok by the leadership of famous Thai hair transplant surgeon - Damkerng Pathomvanich. Akaki Tsilosani was the first one to become a member of the association, for many of "TALIZI" clinic's patients are from Asia, mainly from Korea and Kazakhstan and sharing experience with doctors working with Asian ethnic groups is very important for us. Of course decisive role did make friendship between Akaki Tsilosani and the founder and first president of the association – Damkerng Pathomvanich.

Many reports about actual issues of hair transplantation were represented during meeting. Besides the fact that delegations of clinic "TALIZI" actively participate in such international scientific meetings, AAHRS 1st annual meeting still was distinguished with important news. First of all we would like to highlight report of famous Indian hair transplant surgeon - Sanjiv Vasa about the original method of hairline design.

Reports of Akaki Tsilosani, as a guest speaker was dedicated to the "Talizi" method of strip excision and the problem of poor growth in hair transplantation. The discussion panel comprised of: Jerry Wong (Canada), Jennifer Martinich (Australia),John Cole (USA) and Damkerng Pathomvanich (Thailand) along with Dr. Akaki Tsilosani.

Mostly pleasant for us was meeting with Dr. Tsung Han (Taiwan) and Dr. Steven Ang (Singapore), who have passed training program in hair transplant surgery at "TALIZI" clinic.

Following meeting was decided to be held in South Korea in April, 2012. As a second president of the association has been elected - Tommy Hwan.
