Unique operation of hair transplantation
Unique operation of hair transplantation
Occipital area after 2016 graft extraction On October 9, 2010 in Hair Transplantation Clinic TALIZI was implemented unique operation – 4200 graft transplantation by follicular unit extraction (FUE) method simultaneously from occipital, chest, beard and pubic areas. Patient K., male, 39 years old from France during a long time period was looking for the clinic able to perform such operation. The point is that patient has androgenic alopecia of VII class by Norwood scale and his donor supply on occipital area was too weak for harvesting a big amount of grafts, especially with FUE method, which was patient’s persistent demand. Follicular unit extraction (FUE) is minimally invasive method of hair transplantation when individual FU's are removed directly from donor area without slits and sutures. Main advantage of FUE method is that it is always performed without leaving any linear scar on the donor area. Patient’s desire was hair transplantation By FUE method to be done by combining occipital and body hair transplant. As he mentions, during a long time search he was unable to find a clinic among Europe which could promise him transplantation of 4000 FUs (follicular units) from occipital and body donor areas. So, he made a decision to start negotiations with clinic TALIZI.
Chest area after 1082 graft extraction
Beard area after 470 graft extraction After passing a video consultation, patient has made decision: 2000 grafts transplantation might be done from occipital area and other 2000 from different parts of body – beard, chest and pubic. So, finally patient decided to arrive to Georgia. During surgery, 2016 grafts were harvested from occipital area, 1082 grafts from chest, 635 from pubic and 470 from beard. Body hair following from the distinguished structure comparing to the hair on occiput and beard doesn’t grow long. So, because of that fact, follicles harvested from breast and pubic were used only for creating a hairline and covering crown area, also for eyebrows correction, what appeared to be patients extra demand. Main recipient area, forehead and midscalp area, were covered with hair, harvested from occiput and beard. Operation, which lasted 8 hours, was done by 3 groups consisting 11 person, by the guidance of 3 surgeons: Akaki Tsilosani, Mari Gugava and Eliso Mshvenieradze. Despite a long duration of the operation, method of local anesthesia established by Dr Tsilosani has worked excellent. Patient had absolutely no pain and any discomfort during surgery. The only feeling what he felt was a hunger and tiredness.

Recipient area after finishing surgery Hair transplantation by FUE method from occipital area for today is an ordinary operation. Some surgeons perform body hair transplantation from different parts of body, but not of such large-scale. Such quantity of follicular units in case of androgenic alopecia and eyebrow correction from so different parts of body was firstly performed in the world and we are so proud for it. |
